Snow in SPP!
Shepherd Park Plaza received an early winter treat this year....Snow! It was the earliest snow in Houston's history. SPP had about two inches of snow fall during the afternoon of December 4th.
Fall Fling 2009
The 2009 SPP Fall Fling at Durum elementary school was a huge success. The evening was filled with fun, good food, and great entertainment for both adults and children. This is a sample of the night’s activities.
Shepherd Park Fall Fest 2009
Shepherd Park Plaza's parents and children celebrated Halloween in our park dressed in costume and ready to have fun.

City of Houston Matching Grant
Recently the City of Houston gave Shepherd Park Plaza grant money to help us with the upkeep of our neighborhood entrance signs. There was a ceremony at city hall to recognize the neighborhoods that participated. Several of our board members attended.
New Shepherd Park Playground
The new Shepherd Park playground is now completed. Thank you to the City of Houston for helping to improve our park and neighborhood.
July 4th Children’s Parade
This year’s July 4th Children's Parade was a lot of fun and a great way to show pride for our country and our neighborhood. Thanks to the Plaza Moms for organizing the event and a special thanks to the Constables and Houston Fire Department for leading the parade through the neighborhood.
SPP Flag Project
Thanks to amazing resident participation, SPP is thrilled to have gotten our
flag project off the ground—literally! Your enthusiasm and financial
support have made our display of the stars and stripes possible. We’d like
to thank everyone for your assistance. Plus, we’d like to express our gratitude to Charles
& Carol Jean Hebert and their company Heights Electric for assisting with the
installation.
Crawfish Boil & Fundraiser
SPPCC President Tom Dornak and several other neighborhood residents hosted a crawfish boil on Saturday May 2 at the home of John & Dee Davis. The event was a fundraiser for the SPPCC and was a great way to get to know more of the neighbors.
Spring Fling 2009
The 2009 Spring Fling was a huge success. The 2009 officers and committee’s were nominated and the auction raised needed money for the neighborhood association
