The SPP Garden Club’s biennial Backyard Garden Tour is a beloved event within the community which we are proud to coordinate alongside our neighbors and with the support of several local businesses. It is our opportunity to spotlight some of the many hidden-gem outdoor spaces and talented gardeners within our community, while raising money to support the Durham Elementary School PTA, the shared Shepherd Park Plaza & Candlelight Plaza Constable Patrol Program, and the Plaza Garden Club’s neighborhood beautification projects.

2023 Tour Highlights:

• A certified wildlife habitat with many native plants in a peaceful, mature landscape

• A stunning space for outdoor living and entertainment with modern and attractive landscaping

• Backyard gardens designed for teaching kids about nature and gardening with native & pollinator-friendly plantings and raised beds

• A cozy poolside retreat with tropical flair

• A beautiful and beneficial bird-friendly yard with unique plants and architectural features

• Explore what the children at Durham Elementary are currently growing and raising. See their outdoor classroom, the new greenhouse donated by the SPP Garden Club, their raised bed vegetable garden, & more!
